The Sky's So Clear Tonight...

Close to an end of the year wrap up entry, but I'll spare you guys for now. Lots going on as the year's wrapping up. Graduation, jazz & concert auditions, swing parties, and finals...

Highlights--
Lots of studying, practicing, stressing.
Possible new sax, crossing my fingers...
Fridays have become the defining days of the week again
Along with impromptu plans
Recital tommorow
Become much more passive lately, and I'm enjoying it

The Devil's Horn : The Story of the Saxophone, from Noisy Novelty to King of Cool

Since we last met...

Lots of stuff

Where shall I begin?

Midstate, valentines day, preds games, all county, movie nights, texas, the riverwalk, live jazz, april fools, greenway, babysitting, saxophone shopping, baby saxes, band, learning clarinet and flute, earth day, practicing, practicing, and more practicing.

So a coach at the school has an old MarkVI tenor that he wants to sell, and I just so happen to be in the market. I've been late to first the past few days so I could go to his office and talk to him about it.  The price troubles me, mainly because he won't give me one. Since I'll have to pay for half of it, this becomes an issue. I'm going to talk to him tommorow morning, and offer $1500. That plus the $500 in repairs it'll need set me back $1000. Hear that? That's the sound of all the money I'm going to have for the next year packing up and leaving. Cross your fingers guys, because this horn could be the one.

Resolutions? Bah, who needs em.

So it's new year's eve, and you know the biggest thing i'm looking forward to about tommorow? Getting rid of the 5 following the 0. Now hear me out here. I'm sure you've all written the numbers 2,0,0, and 5 consecutively at one point this year. Now look back at when you're actually writing it. There's no natural flow to it. Sure, you breeze right past the 2 and the double 0s, but once you hit that 5, something just dosent feel right. There's a break in writing, even for just a milisecond, that just dosent fit. Yet when writing the number 2006, there's this pureness to it. It seems so natural, the transition from 0 to 6. There's an unbroken flow that many people this year will take for granted, but not i. I have a feeling this year's gonna be a good one.

Band, midterms, and lasertag...

bah, why dont you die midterms!

bombed the world history midterm but i think i did pretty well on the band and jazz band ones.

congrats to all the freshmen that got bumped to honors band today(hope i didnt leave anyone out..)
Mary and Mary-Catherine, Flute
Kaylee and Mallory, clarinet
Ben, alto sax

and of course, as if my day couldnt get any spiffier, I got bumped up too. man, life is good. maybe this'll give me an excuse to get out of holder's class. then again, I'll have to change chem from 5th to 4th, which isnt very cool, but i'm happy nonetheless.
well, david invited me to a laser tag shindig with his youth group on friday, which tops off my weekend quite well.

F--  school: 8:30-12:00
       swing party: 3:00-6:00
       laser tag: 7:30-8am
S-   christmas with the extended family: 8:01-all day
Su- study, study, study
packed weekend, but I dig it

So i'm pretty sure i got tagged...

hmmm.. 5 random things about me...

1. i really like taco bell

2. i like taking candid pictures

3. i tend to become fixated on things..

4. ..but i'm not a very serious guy

5. i own, and use quite regularly, a bowtie and suspenders

and just to spite you, mr chain-blog maker guy, i hereby terminate this branch of the chain. no taggings from me.
